Biography
Alice Rackley is the CEO and co-founder at Polytag Ltd, a specialist in GS1 digital link QR codes dedicated to circularity and connected packaging solutions. Alice leads a team of barcode specialists and technology solution expterts to deliver ground-breaking services to FMCG businesses requiring tag and trace solutions for packaging. She is also renowned speaker and advisor to many external industry bodies and membership groups.
Alice joined Polytag Limited 3 years ago having worked at GS1 UK as Head of Retail, Marks and Spencer as Head of New Channels both in the UK and India, and several other retail consultancies and brands building and delivering digital strategy.
Polytag is an award winning business tipped as a key enabler for plastic circularity. It is also recognised as driving adoption of GS1 standards across the industry both in the UK, Europe and beyond.

Biography
Laura co-founded her company with three fellow cake enthusiasts in 2021, right after completing her degree in nutrition science. “Turning my passion into my job was always very important to me,” she says.
Now, with her “healthy cake startup,” she’s gradually transforming the industry. The positive reception of Glowkitchen’s products from customers proves they are definitely on the right path!
Laura Fernandez
Biography
Laura Fernandez is the Senior Sustainability Manager at Ocado Retail, the world’s largest dedicated online supermarket. Laura leads the sustainability team to deliver their Planet Together strategy and become a net zero business that meets the needs of customers without compromising the quality of life for future generations. She is also responsible for Ocado’s relationship with external industry bodies and member groups.
Laura joined Ocado Retail 3 years ago having worked at M&S previously for (quite) a number of years, the last few as a Senior Packaging Technologist after gaining an MSc in Packaging Technology and Management.
She is a Board Member of INCPEN and RECOUP and has been a judge for the UK Packaging Awards and Foodservice Packaging Association for a number of years. Laura is an avid promoter of circular economy and driven to ensure we leave the planet better than we found it.
Ignacio Elola

Biography
Ignacio Elola has been working in the food and dairy industry for over 25 years, in commercial management and strategic leadership.
He is currently the Global Commercial Director of Lactalis – a company with a turnover of 29.5 billion and operations in more than 100 countries – where he has assumed a newly created position aimed at defining a global commercial strategy.
In the course of his career, which began in 1995, he has served as CEO of Lactalis Iberia, where he led a team of 2,500 people; he has been a director in various divisions of the Lactalis Group; and has held various marketing and sales positions at Nestlé. He combines this expertise with the presidency of dairy sector associations, between 2020 and 2024, at FeNIL and INLAC.
Michelle Gibbons
Biography
Michelle Gibbons is the Director General of AIM, the European Brands Association, since January 2018. She is responsible for the representation of brands across a wide range of issues that impact our members, from sustainability, supply chain matters, anti-counterfeiting to innovation. AIM members comprise of 20 national associations across Europe, as well as 50 corporate members, in total representing some 2500 companies manufacturing brands which are world-renowned, household names, national icons and local champions.
Michelle is Irish and has been based in Brussels for over 25 years, working with businesses across the consumer goods sector. Previously, she was Senior Vice-President and Senior Partner of an advisory firm in Brussels. She has also served on the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU.
Robert Beideman

Robert Beideman leads the teams that bring standards, global data services and innovations to life at GS1. He and his teams engage businesses, organisations and industries as trusted advisors to transform their supply chains, adapt their logistics models and thrive in a time of unprecedented digital transformation. His consultative approach to leadership relies on perspectives gained in roles in product development, systems engineering, sales and marketing, consulting, research & development and ML/BI design.
Prior to his time at GS1, Robert led global teams to develop and scale integrated hardware, software and services solutions across the logistics automation industry, inclusive of the retail, marketplace, healthcare, transportation & logistics, airport, postal and parcel sectors.
He is a published landscape photographer and a licensed sea captain. He also loves coffee and believes that the intersection of ‘that which is possible’ and ‘that which is needed’ is where all the fun stuff happens

With a long CV full of experience in different areas, Rolf has spent 11 years as CIO of the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety, 8 years in international consultancy for companies such as Ernst & Young and Capgemini, 5 years in IT Transformation Management in the banking sector until he reached his current position, which he started in 2024, as Head of IT for METRO Austria.

Slovak company Berto has created its own resolver, via a direct link with its ERP system, and uses the GS1 digital link to share master data with consumers. Vladimír Achejev works as an IT Analyst at Berto, a Slovak meat processing and meat product-making company. Berto’s products are available across Slovakia in several food store chains, including Billa, Coop Jednota, CBA, Kaufland, Metro, Terno, Tesco. For more than 20 years, he has participated in the analyses of the processes and the introduction of systems ensuring more efficient functioning of the company, including the GS1 standards.
